Rowland Plyer

I started jetski racing at the age of 15 in the Queenford Lake winter series, on the original style Yamaha Waveblaster. I quickly decided to race stand up too, so we bought a Yamaha Superjet, and the same year started racing in the British Championships.

Rows new sticker set for the kawi.

Since then, I´ve taken second in Novice Sport, won the British Tees Trophy Challenge in Expert Ski Ltd, won a round of the European Champs in Ski Stock and raced at the World Finals at Lake Havasu, Arizona where i came 9th in Expert Ski Limited.

I stopped racing in 2003, as i wasn´t enjoying it anymore, but i´ve decided to start again this year. I will only compete in the European Championships, and being based in France now makes life a bit easier on the travelling front. Watch out for for a yellow Kawasaki SXR800 on the TV!

Update July 2006 - Well I haven´t started racing again, as other commitments have taken over this year, plus the fact you need a Hydrospace to be competetive in European Ski Stock, and as I´ve got a Kawasaki SXR, there´s not a lot of point. Oh well, there´s always next year!

I still like to ride for fun, but i´ve kept my Superjet for that, because it´s much more fun to ride than the Kawasaki.

Take a look at some of my pictures in our photo gallery.
