About - Richard Plyer
I started jetski racing at 18, and took the British Beginner Sport Championship in my first year. That same year I also raced in the beginner ski class, and the novice sport class. And that´s how it all started.
Achievements include 6th in the Expert Ski Superstock class in 2000, and 2nd in the Open ski class in the British Winter Championship in 2000/2001. I retired half way through the British Championship in 2001 for several reasons that i won´t go into.
I now ride for fun with my friends on the sea when we can, or usually at home. We´re into our motorbikes too, and i´ve done a few track days on my GSXR600 (that´s me in the picture above). I´ve now sold that and i´m looking for a new model, something to play around with on the country roads round our house.
September 2006 update - I have Crohn´s disease as many people know, and as of late I´ve been struggling with it a bit. I´m not bed ridden as some people are with it, but it´s not pleasant all the same. So if there is anyone reading this who can suggest anything that can help (apart from surgery or the usual medications), I´d love to hear from you.
July 2006 update - I decided to buy another bike, so i went for a Honda CBR600RR. It´s a great looking bike, and it goes really well, but oh my god is it uncomfortable. Any more than an hour in the saddle without stopping is too much. But i didn´t buy it to go touring on so I won´t complain. So now we´re into the summer properly, (I saw 40 degrees on the thermometer the other day), we have to go out really early in the morning to ride, otherwise it´s just too hot!
Take a look at some of my pictures in our photo gallery.
